SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

On 26 June 2025, the Douala Maritime Museum welcomed a group of naval officers from the Douala Specialised Naval Training Centre under the leadership of Captain Patrice Bekono, Commander of the training centre.

This visit took place a few days after their training organised at the Douala Maritime Museum and the resultant success was remarked by Captain Bekono Patrice. “We would like to thank the CNSC for giving our officers the opportunity to undergo advanced training at the Museum,” he added.

Note that naval officers from the Douala Specialised Naval Training Centre took part in a series of hands-on training workshops at the maritime museum in May 2025. This included training on the navigation simulator, fire safety, seamanship, shipboard communications, chart plotting using manual charts, etc. under the supervision of the Director for Naval Training, Lieutenant Kaimo.

Captain Bekono Patrice and his team took advantage of this opportunity to visit the Douala Maritime Museum and its various exhibitions.
