On 20 November 2025, the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC) took part in the 6th edition of the Women Entrepreneurship Day (WED), organised in Yaounde and presided over by Mr. Achille Bassileken III, Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts (MINPMEESA). He was accompanied by Prof. Marie-Therese Abena Ondoa, Minister of Women Empowerment and the Family (MINPROFF).
The event had as objective to commend the strides made by female entrepreneurs and highlight Government’s commitment to actions aimed at empowering women economically through support from ministries, international organisations and their partners.
Themed “Women Entrepreneurs: Something has to Change”, this initiative by Women Entrepreneur Leaders under the banner of the Career Advancement Women Entrepreneurship Champions Organization (CAWEECO), offered a platform to raise awareness on the challenges women face in digitisation, financing, access to foreign markets and stronger networking for increased competitiveness. These actions fall in line with the strategic vision of the Head of State, which places women and youths at the centre of Cameroon’s economic growth.
CNSC was represented at the event by Mr. Owono Bob Philippe-Olivier, CNSC Centre Regional Branch Manager, assisted by Mrs. Assomo Eugénie Michelle, Assistant Service Head for Operations, and Mr. Atangana Roger Noël from the Shippers’ Assistance Service of the regional office. The CNSC took an active part in the activities, particularly at the roundtable on the role of institutions in transforming the female entrepreneurship ecosystem. Mr. Owona Bob delivered a presentation on CNSC’s actions in support of female entrepreneurs, which include accompanying them to major business events such as IATF 2024-2025, FOTRAC, and various trade fairs, broadcasting trade information on CNSC platforms, and capacity building.
CNSC’s participation in WED 2025 on 20 and 21 November 2025, reaffirms its commitment towards empowering female entrepreneurs, enhancing their competitiveness and actively contributing to economic growth driven by public authorities.
