CNSC's General Manager honours his habitual Christmas celebration.
The General Manager of the CNSC, Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, communed with about a hundred children at the Douala Maritime Museum. It was a wonderful moment for these little angels as they happily received Christmas gifts from the GM. The activities of the day included comedy sessions, the screening of a movie, a tour of the museum and a family meal.
Inaugurated in 2013, the Douala Maritime Museum is an exquisite boat-shaped architectural jewel. From afar, this futuristic three-storey, 600m2 building looks like an anchored ship. Its terrace also offers a panoramic view of the port of Douala.
This museum is part of a vast programme to collect, conserve and disseminate the cultural heritage of the Cameroonian coast and to promote its history in order to better understand and know Cameroon's maritime history and its evolution over the years. It houses a rich and varied collection of sculptures, photographs, maps, paintings and pictures all exhibited based on various themes such as: Man in his natural environment; the evolution of types of ships in the world and in Cameroonian ports, as well as the history of trade and its evolution in Cameroonian ports. It is located at Rue de l'Hôpital in the heart of the Bonanjo district, just a few blocks from Sawa Hotel and Pullman Hotel.
