CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) participated in the International Conference on Blue Economy in the Gulf of Guinea, held on 9–10 July 2025 at the Yaoundé Conference Centre.

 

Organised by the Government of Cameroon in partnership with the United Nations, this conference was officially launched by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute, personal representative of the Head of State, H.E. Paul Biya. Other high-profile figures at the opening ceremony included multilateral diplomats such as Mr. Philemon Yang - President of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, and Mrs. Amina J. Mohammed - Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations.

 

As a key player in Cameroon's maritime sector charged with protecting the interests of shippers, the CNSC was represented at the conference by its Director for Trade Facilitation and Transport Observatory Mr. Fernand Douglas Nolga, who was accompanied by Mr. Thierry Mebara, Service Head for International Cooperation.

 

The CNSC was given the floor during the conference to deliver a presentation on maritime governance and the promotion of the blue economy for the benefit of Cameroonian shippers.

 

From a global standpoint, this conference sought to enhance the adoption of the blue economy in the region's coastal states with a view to generating wealth from the seas, oceans and inland waterways, while sustainably preserving the environment.
