CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

From 2 to 4 June 2025, a delegation from the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) was in Guinea-Bissau to take part in the annual conference of the Network of Professional Women in the Maritime and Port Sectors for West and Central Africa (NPWMP-WCA).

NPWMP-WCA is the technical body of the Port Management Association of West and Central Africa (PMAWCA) and organised this year’s meeting under the theme “Port and Hinterland Connectivity: A Factor in Accelerating the Implementation of the AfCFTA”.

During the session, the CNSC's Sub-Director for Shipper's Assistance, Mrs. Armelle Makasso, outlined the problems encountered by shippers on the Douala-Kribi/Bangui and Douala-Kribi/Ndjamena Cameroonian corridors, as well as some solutions implemented since 2018. The latter was accompanied by Mrs. Rose Ekalle and Mrs. Laure Nadège Bangda, respectively Service Head for Export and Regulation ECTN, and Assistant Service Head for Foreign Trade Procedures Monitoring at the CNSC.

Cameroon's delegation to Guinea Bissau also included ladies from the National Ports Authority (NPA), the Port Authority of Douala (PAD), the Port Authority of Kribi (PAK) and Africa Global Logistics (AGL). The conference welcomed ladies from 24 other African countries to discuss the difficulties encountered by hinterland shippers and prospects for the future with the advent of the AfCFTA.
