Activities to mark the celebration of Commonwealth Day in Cameroon were officially launched on 3 March 2025 in Yaoundé. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Felix Mbayu, Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth.
The Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), a strategic partner of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), was represented at the event by Mr. Randolph Njume, Service Head for Translation and Bilingualism Promotion. CNSC's contribution to the success of Commonwealth Day 2025 is the organisation of a seminar on the theme "Building resilient economies through intra-Commonwealth trade and investment ".
This year’s theme “Together we thrive”, was revealed in the keynote address; a moment that also enabled H.E. Felix Mbayu to welcome various representatives of Commonwealth member states resident in Cameroon, saluting in passing their commitment to upholding the values that drive their common growth.
As for the activities scheduled from 3 to 10 March 2025, they will focus on youth, women and various socio-political and economic issues. Other activities include a workshop for liaison officers, a round table on the preservation of Cameroon's cultural heritage, and a mini-trade fair, to name but a few.
