CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Today, 6 May 2022, the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) launched a series of sectoral consultations with road transporters aiming to establish minimum applicable rates for the transportation of livestock.

The discussions were chaired by Mr. YOUNOUSS SOUNGUI, CNSC's Deputy General Manager, and the first group of stakeholders heard were livestock transporters, shippers and road transporters. GICAM, Cameroon's association of employers, was equally represented.

The participants, after outlining the difficulties and hassles associated with their profession, lengthy discussions and due consideration of the various proposals made, agreed on a minimum applicable rate for the transportation of livestock per head of cattle. The next meeting is scheduled for 9 May with stakeholders of the wood industry.
