The Governor of the North Region, Mr. Jean Edi'i Abate, cut the symbolic ribbon today, 7 May 2024, marking the official opening of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council's (CNSC) North Regional Office in Garoua.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, CNSC’s General Manager; the Senior Divisional Officer for Benoue Division, Mr. Oumarou Haman Wabi; the North Customs Sector Chief, Mr. Raymond Touagai; trade union representatives and a host of other invited guests.
Livened up by local song and dance, the ceremony provided an opportunity for a brief review of CNSC’s achievements in the North Region over the past 3 years. The Governor of the North Region, Mr. Jean Edi'i Abate, lauded these efforts by the CNSC to expand its activities into the towns of Bacheo, Gaschiga, Dourbeye, Djatoumi and Barndake.
The ceremony ended with a guided tour of the new CNSC Regional Office which will be hosting a regional seminar themed "Mastering customs clearance and trade procedures at Cameroon's northern borders", scheduled for tomorrow 8 May 2024.
