SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) was privileged to organise a practical training workshop today, 03 November 2022, in the training hall on the 11th floor of the CNSC head office building. The seminar themed "How to Package and Preserve Goods before Export", was coordinated by CNSC’s Department of Assistance to Shippers and was attended by a good number of business persons.

 

In her opening remarks, Mrs. Armelle Makasso, CNSC Chief of Service for Export Assistance, outlined the relevance of this practical training workshop which seeks to provide Cameroonian shippers and businesses with the required skills and knowledge on the quality and conformity of cargo packaging.

 

Presentations delivered by Mr. Siangue Tiani Jean Marc of Genesis Consulting and Mr. Tientcheu André of Plasticam, respectively focused on "Foodstuff Packaging and Preservation Techniques" and "Types of packaging and their characteristics". Both presentations were specifically focused on:

-  Presenting the logistical importance of packaging;

-  Elaborating on packaging standards applicable in the country of destination of the goods;

-  Identifying the potential risks involved for packaged goods and how to adapt packaging accordingly;

-  Selecting the most appropriate packaging based on needs;

-  Understanding basic rules on labelling;

-  Understanding the consequences of not complying with packaging standards.

 

Participants were visibly satisfied at the end of the seminar.
