An awareness-raising seminar themed "Understanding CEMAC customs regimes to optimise customs declarations" kicked off this Wednesday 10 July 2024 at the training hall of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC).

 

Over a hundred business persons and stakeholders of Cameroon's foreign trade took part in this seminar, which was chaired by Mr. Merveille Telesphore Tonye, Sub-Director for Training and International Cooperation at the CNSC.

 

Scheduled to run through to Thursday 11 July 2023, the seminar featured top-notch experts who were invited to help school participants on the various customs regimes applicable in the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC).

 

The session focused on the difficulties encountered by shippers in their ECTN requests, the importance of customs procedures in the economic development of CEMAC, and the optimisation of customs declarations, among other issues.      

 

A possible outcome of this initiative is an increased and smooth flow of trade volumes in the Central African sub-region.
