Guinean Shippers' Council (CGC) delegation on a working visit at CNSC

On 15 February 2021, the CNSC General Manager, Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda granted audience to a delegation from the Guinean Shippers’ Council led by Commander Mory Diane, Head of CGC’s Information System Administration Division. The meeting held on the sidelines of an expert meeting bringing together some officials of both councils. It focused on the Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN), which enables shippers to track and anticipation the clearance of all goods bound for or leaving the Union of the African Shippers' Councils (UASC) member countries.

It enabled participants to share experiences on the functioning of the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (BESC). Mr. Claude Koum, Head of CNSC’s Information Systems Division, briefed their counterparts on the continuous improvement of the electronic platform that enables the CNSC to manage the entire process of issuing the ECTN online. Mr. Elvis Tsaguim, CNSC Director of Operations, told participants that the ECTN validation process does not take long. “Once a shipper provides all required documents, we take less than two hours to verify their quality, seeing to it that the online form has been correctly filled out and to validate the ECTN.”

At the end of the session, the CNSC General Manager expressed his satisfaction at the smooth conduct of the meeting, which forms part of the economic diplomacy of member countries of the Maritime Organisation of West and Central Africa (MOWCA). "I wish you the best in your deliberations so that our respective organisations make the best from it," he added visibly satisfied.
