SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The Secretary General of the Union of African Shippers' Councils (UASC), Mr. Abdourahamane Abba Kafougou, met with senior officials of the port city of Douala on 16 May 2024. The objective of the meeting was to discuss measures to boost and facilitate trade between African countries.

He was accompanied by Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, UASC Statutory Treasurer and General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC). They were first received in audience by the Governor of the Littoral Region, Mr. Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua, with whom they exchanged views on the objectives and expectations of the UASC in the Littoral Region.

The UASC Secretary General and Statutory Treasurer then visited the Port Authority of Douala for a working session with its General Manager, Mr. Cyrus Ngo'o. This visit came shortly after a similar audience was held in Yaoundé with Mr. Patrice Melon, General Manager of the Port Authority of Kribi. Through these meetings, UASC hopes to strengthen its cooperation ties with these port institutions in the future.
