CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Upon request by the Chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) HUB for Cameroon, Gabon and Togo, Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, the strategic partners of the regional hub met on 26 August 2024 at the head office of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC). The purpose of the meeting was to prepare for the upcoming Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF) and CHOGM billed for 23-24 October 2024 in Appia - Samoa.

Discussions during the meeting focused on the key events, stakes and opportunities offered by these two major events. Mr. Cham Etienne Bama, Regional Director of the Cameroon-Gabon-Togo CWEIC Hub and Technical Adviser No. 1 at the CNSC, chaired the meeting on behalf of the Chairman who was unavoidably absent. Based on the themes of the various roundtable talks on schedule, he presented sector-specific activities that could be leveraged by each strategic partner. For example, the Port Authority of Douala could look into the blue economy, while eliminating trade barriers can be of particular interest to the Cameroon Business Women's Group (GFAC).

Having reviewed all the information regarding participation in the upcoming CBF 2024, the CWEIC HUB for Cameroon, Gabon and Togo, through its Regional Director, reminded its 11 strategic partners of its readiness to support them in all the administrative, logistic, and technical formalities for a successful participation.
