SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

On the initiative of the Chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) Hub for Cameroon, Gabon, Sierra Leone and Togo, Mr. Auguste MBAPPE PENDA, a retreat of CWEIC’s Strategic Partners held today 12 February 2025 in the coastal city of Kribi, South Region of Cameroon.

 

This three-day retreat is the first of the CWEIC hub's activities for the year 2025 and is placed under the patronage of the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, H.E MBAYU Felix represented at the occasion by Mrs. Anne OBEN, Director of Commonwealth Department at the Ministry of External Relations.

 

The retreat was also graced by the presence of the new Gabonese High Commissioner to Cameroon, H.E. Anthony MINKO MINLAME, a clear sign of the interest placed by Strategic Partners of CWEIC on leveraging on the network’s huge potential. Other Strategic Partners such as Port Authority of Kribi, Investment Promotion Agency, Cameroon Telecommunications, Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation, Cameroon National Shipper’ Council, Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance etc. were equally in attendance.

 

The retreat aimed at assessing benefits derived from their membership in the CWEIC network and to chart a path for increased collaboration. It was also an opportunity for SPs to present key projects that could attract investors from Commonwealth countries. 

 

For better coordination, Mr. CHAM Etienne BAMA - Regional Director of the CWEIC Hub, presented its action plan for 2025 with a view to better involve strategic partners in CWEIC global’s activities.
