CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Equatorial Guinea’s Minister of State for Finance, Economy and Planning, Mr. Lima Gabriel Mbaga Obiang, was in Douala on 26 September 2024 to visit the Douala Maritime Museum. He was warmly welcomed by Mr. Dippah Kayesse, Head of the Public Relations Unit at the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC).

Throughout his tour, the Equato-Guinean Minister of State was guided around the exhibition halls by museum staff. He was visibly very impressed by the exhibitions and their history, particularly the origins of the word "Kaba", a loose women's garment derived from the German word "Cover".

Going beyond these artefacts, the Minister of State and his retinue were amazed by the museum's digital attractions: the Storm Room, the maritime navigation simulator and the virtual tour booth.

The museum's high-profile guest ended his tour with warm words of praise to CNSC's General Manager, Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, for this "wonderful achievement", a sure delight for its visitors.
