CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC), has been hosting some delegates from the Central African Shippers’ Council (CCAC), in Cameroon for a week-long experience sharing working visit, hoping to draw lessons from CNSC’s experience as the CCAC wakes from hibernation. They were received by Younouss Soungui, CNSC's Deputy General Manager.

Discussion sessions during the five days of the working visit from the 4th to the 8th of April, mainly dwelled on the establishment of ECTNs, assistance to shippers, the organisational set up of CNSC's digital communication and the infrastructural configuration and properties of its IT systems. The cherry on the pie was a tour of CNSC’s Dibamba Trucker Accommodation Centre and the Douala Maritime Museum where the guests were given a peek of Cameroon's colonial and maritime history.

Over the years, the CNSC has proven to be a reference institution for other shippers’ councils. After hosting delegations from Congo late last year, the year 2022 has seen it open its doors to the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), the Mali Shippers’ Council (CMC) and now the Central African Shippers’ Council (CCAC). This spirit of knowledge-sharing further attests to CNSC’s devotion in assisting and protecting the interests of shippers throughout the transport chain, while making a modest contribution to the valorization of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The CCAC delegation, led by Mr. Tayo Macaire (Chief of Service for Studies and Projects) and Mr. Koke Mapouka (Chief of Service for Information and Documentation), appreciated and commended the efforts made by the CNSC GM and his staff to have such a wonderful system in place and did not fail to acknowledge the true African hospitality that was accorded them during their stay in Cameroon.
