Dibamba Trucker facility acquires new working tool called “GESC-CVD”
A brand new Truck Entry and Exit Management System "GESC-CVD" has been set up at the Dibamba Trucker facility. It is a digital platform aimed at facilitating the registration of trucks as they enter or leave the park for better data collection. The GESC-CVD, which went operational in May 2021, was designed and set up by CNSC's Statistics and Transport Observatory Sub-department.
The commissioning of the GESC-CVD translates the will of the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC) to modernise its services with a view to the total dematerialisation of foreign trade procedures. "Initially, truck data were registered manually with the risk of losing them", Mr. Robert Deuzoumbe, employee at the Dibamba Trucker Facility said. It was therefore difficult to control the movements of trucks and users. The need for this innovation arose over time. The GESC-CVD modernises the working of trucker facility by expediting operations and cutting receipt issuing time.
That is why the CNSC, which is bent on improving its assistance to shippers, set up this tool. “The innovation is perfectly in line with the policy of effecting paperless operations at the Dibamba Trucker Facility. It has thus made it possible to significantly improve the management of users and their trucks," Mr. Armand Essono, Head of the Dibamba Trucker Accommodation acknowledged. The GESC-CVD effectively addresses the problems of data collection, information traceability and revenue enhancement at the Centre.
