In preparation for the 2025 edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025) scheduled to take place from 4 to 10 September 2025 in Algiers - Algeria, the General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, chaired a meeting in Douala with promoters of Cameroonian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), hoping to identify those that could represent the country at this continental event.
Held on 12 August 2025, this meeting marks the first stage of the selection process for SMEs that will enjoy CNSC's support to attend the 2025 IATF. About 100 companies from all ten regions of the country were invited to this strategic meeting. Some 50 SMEs specialising in key sectors such as textiles, agri-food and cosmetics responded to the call. Well-known and emerging brands such as Epices de Nounou, Caramelo, Sweet Choco and Terrific Coffee featured in the lot.
The selection criteria established by the CNSC focused on key points such as compliance with applicable standards, product availability in supermarkets, production capacity, and proof of official export authorisations.
Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda praised the efforts made by these SMEs, especially for their packaging, but also encouraged them to use national colours to enhance the visual identity of ‘Made in Cameroon’ products on the international market. Selected companies will be announced in the days ahead.
