As from 10 January, registration and stamp duties on imported used vehicles can be filed and paid on the Cameroon Custom Information System (CAMCIS).
A Press Release was issued to this effect on 02 January 2024 by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Louis Paul Motaze. These registration duties on imported used vehicles, which until now were declared through the Directorate General of Taxation's IT system, will henceforth be filed and paid when goods are cleared via the Customs Assessment Bulletin (BLD) in CAMCIS.
The Minister's press release also states that customs duties, stamp duties and other taxes will also be filed and paid using the same Customs Assessment Bulletin. This administrative measure, designed to facilitate procedures and improve service quality, does not introduce any new taxes or increase the tax burden of taxpayers.
