SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Ouagadougou has since Tuesday been a hive of activity as the Union of African

Shippers´ Councils (UASC) meets in its 11th General Assembly.

 

All national shippers´ councils of West and Central African countries are meeting in the

Burkinabecapital since February 6, 2018 within the framework of UASC´s 11th General

Assembly and the 40th anniversary of the Burkinabe Shippers´ Council (CBC).

 

 

The opening ceremony, which was chaired by the Burkinabe Minister of Transport Mr. Vincent

Dabilgou,was addressed by many personalities of the Maritime Organization of West and Central

Africa (MOWCA)of which the UASC is a specialised body. It was attended by Mrs. Bononita

B. Bismark, sitting UASC Chairpersonwho doubles as the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana

Shippers´ Authority and Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, UASC’sStatutory Treasurer who

doubles as General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers´ Council (CNSC) that hosts

the Union´s headquarters in Douala, Cameroon.

 

 

The General Assembly will elect a new bureau and a Secretary-General at the helm of UASC´s

executive management team.
