As part of activities to commemorate the 40th International Women's Rights Day, the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) organised a workshop-seminar themed “Women's economic empowerment for a more competitive foreign trade”.
The two-day workshop held on 4 and 5 March 2025 at the Douala Maritime Museum gathered around forty businesswomen and members of associations such as Women Up, CNSC Ladies, and Association pour le Développement des Artisans Handicapés du Cameroun (ADAHCAM). These women seized the opportunity to showcase their know-how by displaying food, clothing and cosmetic products 100% Made in Cameroon.
Presentations were delivered by experts from the Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Family, UN WOMEN, the Ministry of External Relations and the CNSC. These ladies informed the audience about policies and strategies put in place by their respective organisations for the economic empowerment of women in Cameroon.
Discussions during the workshop were coordinated in a studious yet convivial atmosphere by Mrs. Claire Onana Takouchop and Mr. Tonye Telesphore, respectively CNSC Director for Shippers’ Assistance and Sub-Director for Training and International Cooperation.
