On 22 January 2025, the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) was present at a workshop organised in Yaoundé to assess the pre-feasibility study conducted on the Ngoumou Logistics Zone development project.
The CNSC was represented at the workshop by Mr. Bob Philippe Olivier Owono and Mr. Samuel Beng, respectively Centre Regional Branch Manager and Service Head for Shippers' Assistance at the CNSC Yaounde office.
The workshop was chaired by Mr. Paul Tassong, Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT). Interestingly, the project under discussion is part of the ‘Multi-country Facility’ programme run by the French Development Agency (AFD).
Discussions during the workshop also addressed some other issues, such as problems associated with decongesting the Port of Douala and improving Cameroon's competitiveness in terms of cargo transport to Chad and the Central African Republic.
