The 39th International Tourism and Travel Show, attended by the Douala Maritime Museum, was officially launched on 9 November 2024, with 20,000 visitors from around the world. The event, which will end on 11 November 2024, is being held at the Colmar Exhibition Centre in France and attended by key industry players.

Cameroon is among the African countries taking part in the show, along with Kenya, Côte d'Ivoire, Madagascar, Gabon, Mali, Chad, Rwanda, the Comoros Islands and Benin.

This year's edition marks the sixth time the Douala Maritime Museum is participating in the show. The frequent turnout is to showcase Cameroon as a tourist destination, as well as the attractions of the Douala Maritime Museum, which focus on Cameroon's maritime heritage.

Its exhibition stand features a series of photographs that provide a fascinating insight into various activities and digital attractions at the museum. Visitors are welcomed in batches by the staff, who provide information on the museum's origins, Cameroon's maritime history, artifacts depicting man in his natural environment, and the centuries-old relationship man has had with water.
