The Doula Maritime Museum's navigation simulator is functional again
On 18 January 2021, Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, CNSC General Manager and promoter of the Douala Maritime Museum virtually piloted the refurbished vessel up to the port of Valencia in Spain.
Aside from the entertainment experience, the navigation simulator is a learning tool that enables students and other navigation professionals to better understand maneuvers and other navigation aids. After a few weeks of maintenance to improve on its performance, the Douala Maritime Museum’s navigation simulator is functional again and open to museum visitors.
The Simulator is a boon to navigation crew training schools as it is used for tutorials.
