The 4th Tripartite Forum on cargo transit through the ports of Cameroon kicked off on 9 January 2024 in Kribi, Cameroon.
In his opening speech, the Minister of Transport, Mr. Jean Ernest Ngalle Bibehe Masséna, highlighted some of the initiatives taken by the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) to facilitate trade between Cameroon, Chad and the Central African Republic, precisely through the construction of trade facilitation infrastructures.
Cameroon's Transport Minister was keen to point out that two CNSC trucker accommodation centres recently went operational, one in Ngoulentang and the other in Kousseri. He further went on to inform participants about the two other CNSC trucker facilities (Garoua-Boulai and Ngaoundere), currently under construction.
This information was very much welcomed by the participants in attendance, and even more so by the Cameroonian, Chadian and Central African road transporters plying the Douala/Kribi- Bangui and Douala/Kribi-Ndjamena corridors.
