Today, 20 June 2023, the Douala Maritime Museum had the honour of welcoming Mr. Chawky Mahbouli, a barrister at law in the courts of Paris. A prominent figure in his domain of specialty, he was invited to Cameroon to present at the international symposium organised by the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) on the challenges of maritime insurance in African countries, from 21 to 23 June 2023 in the coastal city of Kribi.
Accompanied by Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, General Manager of the CNSC and promoter of the Douala Maritime Museum (MMD), Mr. Chawky Mahbouli viewed all the exhibitions consisting of paintings, photographs, objects and videos. The seasoned lawyer was edified on German occupation of Cameroon and activities carried out by the CNSC to promote the culture of Cameroon's coastal peoples.
Chawky Mahbouli used the opportunity to raise awareness on the consequences of illegal immigration among youths. At the end of his visit at the Douala Maritime Museum, he had one key remark to make: "Cameroon and Africa in general abound with opportunities for young people, all they need to do is to identify them.
