SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The inaugural session of the platform for the implementation and monitoring of the institutional strategic partnership between the CNSC and the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) took place on 16 November 2021 in Yaoundé.

The working session was solemnly launched by Minister Felix Mbayu, Minister Delegate at MINREX and Chairman of this platform, in the presence of Mr Auguste Mbappe Penda, the platform’s Vice-Chairman.

On 14 September 2021, a platform dubbed Ministry of External Relations (MINREX) - Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) platform saw the light of day in the Ministry of External Relations. It is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the institutional strategic partnership between the CNSC and the Commonwealth Investment and Enterprise Council (CWEIC).

 

The platform is chaired by the Minister Delegate in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, H.E. Felix Mbayu with Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, CNSC General Manager as Vice-Chairman.  It is made up of several public administrations, notably the Presidency of the Republic, the Prime Minister's Office, government ministries, and socio-professional organisations such as GICAM.

 

One of the main objectives of the MINREX-CNSC platform is to identify investors across the CWEIC network capable of financing projects and to provide platform members with all requisite information in order to help promote the profession and the activities of shippers in Cameroon. The platform is also tasked with identifying and proposing to the Prime Minister, Head of Government, new projects developed by platform member companies and eligible for CWEIC funding.
