CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

As part of efforts to strengthen economic cooperation between Tunisia and Cameroon, a delegation of Tunisian investors paid a working visit to the head office of the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC) on 29 October 2026. The meeting helped the visiting business operators better understand Cameroon’s foreign trade procedures and mechanisms, particularly in the context of the tariff-dismantling process under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Leading the delegation, Abdel Zitouni, Head of the Tunisian Economic Office in Cameroon and Commercial Representative of the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX), said the visit was part of a business mission designed to strengthen links between Tunisian companies and Cameroonian business operators, identify new trade opportunities and foster sustainable partnerships in the Cameroonian market. The participating Tunisian companies operate mainly in the construction, public works and building materials sectors.

Chairing the discussions on behalf of CNSC’s General Manager, Etienne Cham Bama, Technical Adviser No. 1, welcomed the progress made in implementing the AfCFTA, noting that the continental trade framework also presents promising opportunities for Tunisian products to access African markets. He further stated that 95% of Cameroon’s imports originate from Maghreb countries.

Regarding trade facilitation measures available under the AfCFTA, the CNSC reaffirmed its readiness to support Tunisian exporters in navigating the relevant procedures and facilitate their access to the Cameroonian market.
