One week after a visit by former students of the University of Ngaoundere, the Douala Maritime Museum welcomed a huge delegation of the 2004 batch of the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) on Saturday, 25 July 2026. 

They were received by CNSC staff of the Museum who led the 30-man delegation, comprised of magistrates and civil administrators, through a guided tour which began with the broadcast of a documentary on the production of a traditional canoe within the Sawa community. 

During the guided tour, the guests seized the moment to admire the well-preserved ship models of the now collapsed Cameroon Shipping Lines, once Cameroon’s maritime company. 

These former ENAM students visited all the other objects on display, learning more about the safety and rescue equipment used on the high seas, and experienced the navigation simulator. Using the different objects on display, about 2,000 in number, the guides gave the visitors highlights of Cameroon’s colonial history from when the Europeans first arrived on Cameroon’s coastline. 

At the end of the tour, the guests expressed hearty congratulations to Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC), also a civil administrator and former student of the prestigious institution based in Yaounde. He was praised for the wonderful initiative of setting up this museum, which richly tells Cameroon’s coastal culture.
