Until further notice, the final consumer will still buy a 200 gram loaf of bread at 125 CFA francs and a 50 kg bag of flour at 19,000 CFA francs.
After a meeting between the Groupement des industries meunières du Cameroun - Association of Milling Companies in Cameroon (GIMC) and the governor of the Littoral region on 9 February 2022, wheat flour is still available throughout the country. According to GIMC's Secretary General, Alfred Momo Ebongue, wheat flour supplies are still ongoing pending consultations with the government to "get out of this shortage crisis". He added that so far the prices of bread and other derived products have not been changed.
