The District Officer for Pouma, Mr. Nelson Yonkouma Gamsi, officially launched a training session organised within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to boost the production, processing and marketing capacity of female entrepreneurs of the cassava sector in his administrative district.
The event took place on 28 October 2024 at the Centre for the Promotion of Women and the Family in Pouma and was attended by Pr. François Nkoa - Technical Adviser at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER), Mrs. Patricia Ze - Head of the Competitiveness Unit at the Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts (MINPMEESA), and a delegation from the Cameroon National Shippers‘ Council (CNSC) led by CNSC's Director for Shippers’ Assistance, Mrs. Claire Onana Takouchop.
Over fifty female cassava farmers are taking part in the second phase of these theoretical and practical training sessions organised by MINPMEESA and scheduled to run until 3 November 2024.
