CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Following the steering committee session convened yesterday, the General Assembly of the Union of African Shippers' Councils (UASC) will be held today, Wednesday, 10 May 2023.

At the close of this General Assembly, the chairmanship of the UASC will be occupied by Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, General Manager of the Senegalese Shippers' Council (COSEC) for the next two years, in replacement of Mr. Kazumba Mayombo William, outgoing UASC Chairman and General Manager of the Multimodal Freight Management Office of the Democratic Republic of Congo (OGEFREM).

Another noteworthy change that is awaited is the election of a new Secretary General for the Union. In accordance with the statutes of the UASC, which is a specialised body of the Maritime Organisation of West and Central Africa (MOWCA), the new Secretary General who shall serve at the Secretariat in Douala (Cameroon) for this new term should hail from West Africa.
