As part of the activities organised to mark the “Blue November” campaign against male cancers worldwide, the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), in collaboration with Centre Médico-Chirurgicale le Berceau (CMCB), organised an awareness-raising session focusing on statistics, the importance of early diagnosis and the effective treatment of prostate and testicular cancers, which account for over 80% of all male cancers in Cameroon.
This awareness-raising session was held on 29 November 2024 in the training hall at the CNSC head office in Douala. Thanks to the teachings of Dr. Armand Kalefack, a specialist in occupational health and safety at CMCB, and Mr. Charlemagne Manga, CMCB Marketing and Communication Director, CNSC staff were able to learn more about these cancers, clearing any misconceptions they may have had.
This male cancer awareness-raising campaign ended with voluntary screening sessions for CNSC staff. As a follow-up, a sports walk has been scheduled for 30 November 2024, at the Parcours Vita sports park in Douala.
