CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

On 11 June 2025, H.E. Pierre Kashadile Bukasa-Muteba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to Cameroon, granted an audience to Auguste Mbappe Penda, General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), in Yaoundé. Their discussions centred on the institutional support requested by the CNSC and DRC Shippers' Council dubbed OGEFREM (Multimodal Freight Management Office).

These two Shippers' Councils have since 12 May 2025 launched studies to assess the possibility of operationalizing the Kribi - Zongo road corridor (North - DRC) passing through the Central African Republic (CAR). If successful, such a project would substantially reduce freight costs for goods bound for or leaving the northern part of the DRC via the Kribi Port.

At the outset, the Congolese diplomat commended the excellent collaboration between the CNSC and OGEFREM, which are both charged with promoting foreign trade in their respective countries. He reassured CNSC's General Manager of his commitment to involve all the relevant bodies in both countries to ensure the success of this project, which augurs great benefits.

These discussions took place in the presence of the ambassador’s minister-Counsellor Shako Omatete and 1st Counsellor Éric Ngamba Mabunsu. For the CNSC, Messrs. Jean Louis Emmanuel Ava Ava - Director of Administration and Finance, Olivier Bob Owono - CNSC Centre Regional Branch Manager, and Luc Ndob - Head of the Communications Unit, accompanied their General Manager.
