CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The second session of the ‘Level Up Your Business’ workshop organised by the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) on 31 July 2024 brought together more than twenty young entrepreneurs to discuss "the importance of product labelling in the competitiveness of SMEs".

Two experts were invited to speak at the awareness-raising session. The first expert, Mr. Christian Lombat, is responsible for the development and identification of Made in Cameroon products at GS1 Cameroun and focused his presentation on the importance of product labelling. The second expert, Miss SAYOU NGBA Catherine - Head of Local Product Certification at ANOR, outlined various requirements for the labelling of agri-foods and cosmetic products.

Participants were schooled on concepts such as distinguishing between product packaging and labelling, giving accurate information about a product during manufacture, and tips to ensure that the barcode is properly displayed. They were also quick to express their satisfaction with the quality of the presentations.

Coordinated by CNSC's Sub-Director for Shippers' Assistance, Mrs. Oumoul Mohamadou, the aim of the workshop was to help budding SME entrepreneurs to grow their businesses through product standardisation and labelling.

The next session of the ‘Level Up Your Business’ workshop, scheduled for September 2024, will focus on a new and more interesting topic.
