The celebration of the 139th edition of International Labour Day at the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC) witnessed an innovation. For the first time, staff from CNSC Regional Offices in the Far North, Centre, South, South-West and even the North Region, officially opened just a year ago, were allowed to take part in the official ceremonies organised in their respective regions, away from the CNSC head office in Douala.
The salient blue colour of the CNSC fabric was seen at the parades held on 1st May 2025, both at the 20th May Boulevard in Yaoundé and at the grand stand in Garoua. The public cheered the marching staff, in recognizance of efforts made by the CNSC on a daily basis to promote foreign trade throughout the country.
In Douala, as is customary, the young and dynamic CNSC staff took part in the parade at the Besseke Boulevard. Their passing was accompanied by applauds from the General Manager, Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, seated alongside administrative authorities at the tribune.
The parade was quickly followed by a family lunch offered by CNSC’s Management, having as special guests the Secretary General of the Union of African Shippers‘ Councils (UASC) Mr. Abdourahamane Abba Kafougou, and representatives of some Shippers’ Councils established in Cameroon. The cheerful event featured a prize award phase to the winners of the various competitions organised to mark the celebration of the 139th edition of International Labour Day at the CNSC.
