SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The Commonwealth Organisation will be holding its second trade and investment summit in the city of London on 5 and 6 December 2022 under the theme “The Future of the Global Workspace”.

Amongst the key speakers to take part in the two-day high-level roundtable talks that will bring together Heads of Government, senior Ministers, and senior business leaders from across the Commonwealth is Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC) and Vice-Chair of the CWEIC-MINREX-CNSC platform.

Holding after a successful Commonwealth Business Forum organised in Kigali in June, 2022, this Business-to-Government Summit which is of interest to all 56 Commonwealth member nations will provide an opportunity for them to focus and strategise on some key Commonwealth issues. Among other things, discussions at the Summit will focus on the need for a just and secure transition to sustainable energy, food security and resilience, health technology and the future of green finance.

The forum, a follow-up to the CBF, comes to boost intra-commonwealth trade and investment to put trade back on track following the economic setbacks caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the spill over effect of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict. In addition, other aspects such as the evolution of technology, education, public health, youth employment and collaboration between governments, public and private sectors, shall feature on its agenda.
