CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Today, 7 November 2022, Mr. Younouss Soungui, Deputy General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), on behalf of the General Manager who was unavoidably absent, received a delegation from the Niger Council of Public Transport Users (CNUT) led by Mr. Abba Kafousou, Director of CNUT's Transport Observatory. The meeting was equally attended by Mr. Bruno Gohugo, a Technical Director at the Union of African Shippers' Councils (UASC).

Discussions between both sister councils mainly centred on aspects related to the issuance of Electronic Cargo Tracking Notes (ECTN) by the CNSC. Unaviodably absent from the working session, Mrs. Tchima Moustapha Mamadou, CNUT’s General Manager, was represented by Mr. Abba Kafousou who underlined that the purpose of their trip to Cameroon is to discuss experiences about ECTN issuance and to learn from the CNSC's proven expertise on the subject.

Several aspects relating to the issuance of ECTNs were discussed in the course of the working session. CNSC officials involved in the ECTN issuance process provided accurate and satisfactory responses to concerns raised. Noteworthy is the fact that the four-day mission at the CNSC, running from 5 to 9 November 2022, seeks to identify a potential technical partner to help the CNUT set up an ECTN issuance system. A second working session is scheduled at CNSC's head office tomorrow, 08 November 2022.
