Phase 2 of the Global Advisory Council organised by the CWEIC HUB for Cameroon, Gabon and Togo was held from 24 to 26 April 2024 in the Togolese city of Lomé. The outcome was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Republic of Togo and some Indian investors who were part of the official delegation from the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC).

Mainly focusing on the health sector, this MoU was conceived after the meeting between the Togolese Prime Minister, Mrs Victoire Tomegah Dogbe, and the CWEIC delegation led by its Vice-Chairman, Lord Hugo Swire. Discussions also dwelled on potential business opportunities between Togo and CWEIC.

The trip to Togo was an opportunity for the CWEIC delegation to visit infrastructure at the Port of Lomé and the Adétikopé Industrial Platform.

Satisfied with the outcome of the GAC, Togo expressed its wish to host a CWEIC HUB for the West African sub-region, hoping to become a regional investment hub.
