The city of Morini recently hosted the 8th International Conference on Responsible and Sustainable Tourism organised by Tourisme Sans Frontières, an international NGO, from 10 to 11 May this year. This tourism event brought together participants from Mali, Cote d'Ivoire, Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar, France, USA, Togo, Seychelles and Cameroon.
Discussions at the conference focused on identifying historical and cultural natural resources, developing basic infrastructure, training tourism professionals, site management, accessibility, connectivity, promoting the tourist attraction and financing tourism activities.
The Moroni Conference comes two years after the 7th conference which was successfully organised at the Douala Maritime Museum in Cameroon in January 2020.
