The 2023 edition of the Douala Maritime Museum's "Fun and Educational Holiday Programme" which lasted for one month held its last session on 11 August 2023. Children between the ages of 5 and 15 seized the day to display newly acquired skills to their parents and invitees.

It all started with a guided tour of the museum's exhibitions. The young holidaymakers then entertained the audience with their mastery of ancestral culture on a beautifully decorated podium. For over two hours, the audience was stunned by the traditional dance steps of these kids to the rhythm of local instruments.

The national anthem was intoned in Bassa'a, a local language, followed by theatrical performances, storytelling and a fashion parade. These performances were nothing short of a rendition of all what they had learned throughout their participation in the "Douala Maritime Museum's 2023 Holiday Programme". The stage performances were closely coordinated by their instructors, visibly pleased with the outcome of their efforts.
