On 8 May 2026, Government High School (GHS) Limbe in the South-West Region officially opened its smart classroom during a ceremony presided over by the Minister of Secondary Education (MINESEC), Professor Pauline Nalova Lyonga.
This initiative, driven by the President of the Republic, H.E. Paul Biya, with support from MINESEC, PROMETHEAN and the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), forms part of the efforts to modernise Cameroon’s educational system as set out in the National Development Strategy 2020–2030 (NDS30).
Speaking at the ceremony, the Regional Director of the CWEIC Hub for Cameroon, Gabon, Togo and Sierra Leone, Mr Étienne Bama, who is also Technical Adviser No. 1 at the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), reiterated the CWEIC Hub’s firm commitment to promoting trade and investment in priority sectors of NDS30. Mr Etienne Bama went on to highlight the CWEIC’s contribution to achieving the objectives of the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
The various demonstrations on digital education performed for the guests highlighted the technological advances aimed at modernising the country’s education system.
