As part of the “LEVEL UP YOUR BUSINESS” programme, the head office of the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC) hosted an awareness-raising workshop on 4 November 2026, under the theme: “Formalising Your Business for Sustainable Growth: Challenges, Benefits and Registration Procedures.”
The event brought together many entrepreneurs of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) operating in Cameroon's Littoral, Centre and South Regions.
Officially opening the workshop on behalf of CNSC’s General Manager, Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, the Sub-Director for Training and International Cooperation, Mr. Telesphore Tonye, expressed concern over the low level of formal structuring among Cameroonian SMEs. He highlighted that the training's primary objective is to equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills needed to develop their businesses further while facilitating their transition from the informal to the formal sector.
The workshop featured three complementary presentations, with the first delivered by Mr. Yves Emmanuel Gros, Service Head for CNSC Promotional Activities. He focused on the challenges and benefits of business formalisation for SME growth.
The second presentation, delivered by Mrs. Danielle Moukoudi Etoundi, Sub-Director for Human Resources and General Affairs, addressed anti-corruption initiatives implemented within the CNSC.
The third presentation focused on business registration procedures, and participants were briefed on the mandate of the Business Creation Formalities Centre (CFCE), an entity operating under the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Promotion Agency (APME). Mr. Fils Fridolin Mbok Mbock, an agent from CFCE, provided insights into various business support mechanisms and outlined the steps involved in setting up a business within 72 hours.
