CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

On 27 and 28 February 2026, the Cameroon National Shippers' Council organised training workshops for women in the towns of Abang Minko and Kye-Ossi in the South Region of Cameroon. The objective was to strengthen the capacities of these women involved in cross-border trade to promote their sustainable economic empowerment.

During the training, participants were sensitized on best business practices, administrative procedures, and the opportunities in cross-border trade. Experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Directorate General of Customs provided technical insights into support and trade facilitation mechanisms.

This activity was led by CNSC's Director for Shippers’ Assistance, Mrs. Claire Onana Takouchop, representing the General Manager, Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda. In her presentation, she reaffirmed the CNSC's commitment to fully carry out its mission of providing assistance to trade actors in border areas, where women play a crucial role in the local economy.

In Abang Minko'o, the training was marked by two major announcements: the upcoming launch of renovation works on the CNSC warehouse and the acquisition of a tricycle to support the activities of women traders.
