Since the 8th of July 2024, the Cameroonian Federation of Common Initiative Groups engaged in the processing of agricultural products (FUTPAC) has been showcasing its products at the Central Africa Annual Cross-Border Trade Fair (FOTRAC) in Ebolowa.
FUTPAC is exhibiting about fifty "made in Cameroon" products of different varieties. Baileys brewed from cassava, dried safu, dried mangoes, corn porridge and flavoured tapioca flour, are some the processed foods ready for consumption and greatly cherished by the public.
"Our participation at this year's edition would have been far-fetched without the support we had from the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC)," remarked Mrs. Dobou Ngongang, FUTPAC Coordinator at FOTRAC.
These products enabled FUTPAC to win 12 distinctions in a contest organised for Best Processed Food Products in Africa, including 5 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals. "We would like to thank the CNSC for these excellent achievements, but above all for having fully covered all our expenses, including travel costs," she added happily.
By hosting FUTPAC exhibitors at its stand, the CNSC hopes to encourage SMEs in the production and marketing of products "made in Cameroon", especially with the implementation of Cameroon's import-substitution policy.
