Under the patronage of the General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, the Cameroon Road Transporters' Union (GTTC) and the ECCAS Transport Federation donated about 60 mosquito nets to occupants at the CNSC Dibamba trucker accommodation centre on 10 October 2025.
This initiative is part of the ‘Together, let’s protect road transport workers’ health programme, said Mr. Mbida Ndoumbé, GTTC's National Vice-President. The GTTC health assistance programme will continue at the Ngoulentang, Garoua-Boulai and Kousseri trucker accommodation centres in the Central, East and Far-North regions of Cameroon.
Warmly welcomed by the CNSC, the initiative by GTTC aims to support cargo transporters plying the Douala/Kribi - Bangui and N'djamena corridors in their activities,’ said Mr. Elvis Tsaguim, CNSC Director for Operations and Projects and personal representative of CNSC's General Manager at the ceremony. With the 2025 presidential election approaching, Mr. Mbida Ndoumbé urged transporters to ‘responsibly convey messages of peace for a prosperous Cameroon’.
In addition to mosquito nets, the programme will be reinforced in the coming days through the distribution of folding beds, medicines, condoms, etc., to enable road transporters to carry out their activities in good health and in a responsible manner.
