SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

From 26 to 29 March 2026, the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC) took part in the 14th Ministerial Conference (MC14) of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) hosted by Cameroon. The official opening ceremony was presided over by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute on behalf of the President of the Republic, H. E. Paul Biya.

Equally present at this opening ceremony were members of Government, WTO member country representatives, Mrs. Ngozi Okinjo-Iweala - WTO Director General, as well as many other guests.

On behalf of CNSC’s General Manager Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, CNSC’s Technical Adviser No. 1 and country Director of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) Mr. Cham Etienne Bama, delivered a presentation on actions carried out by the CNSC aimed at showcasing investment opportunities and boosting trade. The latter equally highlighted CNSC’s contribution to the enhancement of Cameroon’s economic potential through the “Made in Cameroon” initiative, and the integration of enterprises and SMEs into international and regional markets, particularly within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

On the sidelines of the conference, the CNSC, currently chairing the International Trade Committee at the Cameroon National Office of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC-Cameroon), opened its exhibition stand to the public.

The hundreds of visitors who visited the stand learned about CNSC’s missions and achievements.  They equally received documentation on CNSC’s efforts to boost and facilitate foreign trade. Staff on site seized the opportunity to inform visitors on the stakes inherent with the transformation of the CNSC from a Public Administrative Establishment to a Public Corporation.
