CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) organised a workshop in Douala today, 29 April 2025, focusing on the MINFI/MINADER joint ministerial order of 2 January 2025 laying down fees for phytosanitary inspections and the issuance of phytosanitary certificates.

 

The workshop was attended by a huge number of participants including shippers, representatives of trade unions, phytosanitary treatment companies and Public Administrations such as the National Ports Authority, the Single Window for Foreign Trade Operations (GUCE), and the National Cocoa and Coffee Board, among others.

 

The session was led by Mr. Edouard Nya, Sub-Director for Regulation and Quality Control on Agricultural Inputs and Products at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. His presentation provided clarifications on key aspects of this joint ministerial order, particularly with regard to its exclusive bearing on financial aspects, its innovations, as well as payment procedures and conditions.

 

In the same vein, CNSC's Service Head for Import Assistance, Mr. Junior Sone Makoge, reported on the follow-up to the recommendations made during previous consultations between the CNSC and the Port Authority of Douala on the payment deadlines for phytosanitary fees.  

 

The proceedings ended on a satisfactory note as participants expressed the wish see other meetings organised on the same subject
