On 16 September 2026, the North Regional Office of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) took part in an awareness-raising campaign in Garoua against the illegal import and sale of sweetened drinks, frozen foods and other related products.
Organised by the Directorate-General of Customs, the campaign sought to inform the public about compliance with standards and regulations, the sale of non-compliant products, and the fight against counterfeiting and smuggling.
The event was also attended by many transporters, business persons, and representatives of public administrations such as the National Standards and Quality Agency (ANOR).
In his address, the Head of the Customs Sector for the North Region, Mr. Raymond Touagaï, praised the CNSC’s commitment to empowering business persons in the region since its establishment in the city of Garoua in 2024. These compliments were followed by a call to increase training opportunities for stakeholders in Cameroon’s logistics chain, so that ‘Made in Cameroon’ products can flourish and contribute to the effective implementation of the country's import-substitution policy.
