SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

The Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) under the stewardship of Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, launched the construction of the CNSC Garoua-Boulai Trucker Accommodation Centre in the East Region of Cameroon today, 30 September 2022. 

 

The foundation stone of the project was laid by the representative of the Governor of the East Region, Mr. Jacques Woulsou, Inspector General at the Governor's Office. The ceremony was attended by many guests amongst whom the Honourable Kombi Beri, Vice President of the National Assembly.

 

In his welcoming address, Mr. Bouba Illiassa, 1st Deputy Mayor of the Garoua-Boulai Council welcomed CNSC's initiative before going on to list the advantages of such a project for public authorities, the local population and cross-border trade actors, primed beneficiaries of the project.

 

The project is part of a vast programme for the construction of trade facilitation infrastructures throughout the national territory, said Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda. Besides the CNSC Dibamba Trucker Accommodation Centre operational since 2017, the CNSC has constructed the Ngoulentang Trucker Accommodation Centre which will open its doors on October 14 and the Kousseri Logistics Base which will go operational before the end of the year 2022. 

 

CNSC's General Manager underlined that the CNSC Garoua-Boulai Trucker Accommodation Centre will be operational before the end of the first half of 2023. He equally seized the opportunity to announce the upcoming creation of a CNSC Regional Office in the East Region to the people of Garoua-Boulai. In view of all the above, the General Manager looks forward to a long and lasting partnership between the Garoua-Boulai Council and the CNSC.
